Good Friday and Easter Dawn

Dear Friends,

Good Friday

I’m sure there will be many resources for Holy Hour on Good Friday – online and perhaps even on the television. But if you would like to simply spend an hour of silence and reflection, the  liturgy (under the “Home Worship” banner) gives you a shape with 5 meditations of about 10 minutes, each one including a reading, prayers, a verse of a hymn and a reflection.

Easter Dawn

If you are an early riser, you might like to join me from your home at 6am on Easter Day. I will be in the churchyard lighting the New Fire of Easter and the Paschal Candle – and renewing baptismal vows at dawn (6.18am!)
You could sit in your garden or by an open window – or simply open the curtains and sit up in bed! You will need a small dish of water, your candle and a bell if you have one.
The Easter vigil is a very ancient liturgy in the church, and I hope this form – on the website under the “Home Worship” banner – which I’ve adapted for use in isolation, may give some connection to the great day of our faith this year!

Material for 10am on Easter Day will follow on Saturday.

Love and blessings
