The Robed Choir

at St Andrew sings a mixture of traditional and modern hymns and anthems, usually in 4 part harmony.  The choir has a large repertoire from 13th to 21st C.

The choir meets every Friday evening at the church to practice (except during the month of August).  Rehearsals are Fridays, 7:30 – 8:45 p.m.

The choir sings at the following services:

  • 2nd Sunday – Parish Communion
  • 3rd Sunday – Evensong, Celtic Service or Blessing of Light (monthly rotation)
  • 4th Sunday – Parish Communion

The choir welcomes new members, all ages from 11+ are welcome and the ability to sight-read music is not required!  Please contact the musical director, Paul Fortune, for more information.

In Sung Communion services, usually a setting (with congregational participation) is used, and often with a psalm (either responsorial or Anglican chant).    An anthem is sung, together with a communion motet on two Sundays of the month.   Gospel responses and alleluias are also sing, and there is occasionally an Introit.

The choir participates in RSCM events, and visits to other places of worship.

St Andrew’s Singers

A less formally constituted group, which sings in one or two parts on one Sunday morning per month (though members are welcome also on the third Sunday morning).   It sings for the informal family services, occasionally with instrumental accompaniment.   This group rehearses monthly, at 9.30am for one hour, usually on the first Saturday of the month.

St Andrew’s Singers

The St Andrews Singers lead the hymns and usually sing a simple anthem at our all-age services.

The choir meets once a month on the third Saturday morning at the church at 9:30 a.m.

The choir sings at the following services:

  • 1st Sunday – All Age Communion
  • 3rd Sunday – Family Worship

The choir welcomes new members.  Please contact the musical director, Paul Fortune, for more information.
